What is the new UKCA brand?
We have mentioned CE marks here before and there is now a new mark for products supplied to Great Britain. So what is the UKCA mark?
Pressure Equipment Regulations (Safety) 2016 No. 1105 and UKCA mark
The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) brand is the new product brand that will be required for some products placed on the market in Great Britain. It covers most of the products that previously required CE marking, including pressure equipment.
The UKCA marking entered into force on 1st January 2020 and after 31st December 2021 only products bearing the UKCA marking will be accepted in Great Britain.
Our approved body will be TÜV UK Ltd. (0879) for UKCA marking services and we already comply with the assessment procedures which allow us to use the UKCA mark on our products and the certificate has been issued.
As per the Pressure Equipment Directive, all pressure equipment and assemblies above the specified pressure and / or volume thresholds must: be safe, meet essential safety requirements relating to design, manufacture and testing, meet the appropriate conformity assessment procedures and carry the UKCA mark and other information.
Sound Engineering Practice (SEP) and the UKCA mark
Pressure equipment and assemblies below the specified pressure / volume thresholds must: be safe, be designed and manufactured in accordance with good engineering practice (SEP) and carry the specified markings (but not the UKCA mark).
Form H approval
Classic Filters has Form H approval for Pressure Equipment Regulations (Safety) 2016 No. 1105 and allows the supply of UKCA marked housings for standard and specialty products – even if a single special housing is required, we can supply it with a UKCA mark.
We can also supply a Declaration of Conformity with every filter housing with a UKCA mark
