Supercritical CO2 Botanical Oil Extraction
Supercritical CO2 is becoming an important commercial and industrial solvent due to its role in chemical extraction with its low toxicity and environmental impact. Fractional Extraction uses the solvency power of CO2 at different pressures and temperatures to isolate desired oils, waxes and other herbal distillates from a variety of plant species.

What filter housings are used?
Our food-grade 316L Stainless Steel Filter housings are ideal as traditional filters or as special pressure vessels in a variety of Botanical Oil Extraction applications. Our wide variety of filter housing designs offer flexibility when designing the extraction system. The most popular filter housing sizes are –
- SS424 and SS434 Series, up to 35 Bar (500psi)
- SS425 and SS435 Series, up to 100 bar (1500psi)
- SS426 and SS436 Series, up to 200 bar (3000psi)
Sealing option include solid PTFE (Teflon) for low temperatures and Viton in FDA approved grades.
